Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance/Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting practices. This role for our family-owned business offers an exciting opportunity to oversee a comprehensive range of financial functions, including regulatory compliance, financial reporting, and team management. Leading our finance team, you will drive strategic financial initiatives, ensure adherence to industry standards such as GAAP, and support organizational growth through expert financial analysis and management. Your energetic approach and strong technical expertise will help us maintain transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial activities.

The Finance/Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, cash flow management, corporate compliance, account reconciliations, and the accuracy and timeliness of financial information. The Finance/Accounting Manager ensures the integrity of accounting records, performs hands-on accounting work and serves as the primary financial liaison to the Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

Financial Management

· Direct and monitor all financial activity of the organization.

· Have a clear understanding of and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

· Manage company cash flow and forecasting.

· Assess company spending and work to reduce costs.

· Generate income through the safe investment of company funds.

· Analyze and assist in preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and timely.

Accounting

· Oversee and assist with day-to-day accounting to ensure transactions are recorded and coded accurately.

· Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable (client invoicing / collections).

· Complete weekly payroll (employee salaries, deductions, withholding taxes, employer taxes, payroll processing and reconciliation, PTO tracking, garnishments).

· Banking (cash management, deposits, billpaying, investments, line of credit management)

· Account audits and reconciliations.

· Work with CPA to maximize available tax credits, conduct annual comprehensive general ledger reconciliation and provide data to CPA to prepare annual tax returns.

· Ensure timely and accurate input of all time and expense data to financial/project cost management software, generate monthly and annual reports.

Administration

· Insurance Policy Administration (annual negotiation and renewal as well as maintenance of professional liability, business property and liability, auto insurance, workers compensation and other business policies).

· Maintain relationships with consultants, vendors, and brokers.

· Ensure timely renewals of licenses and firm registrations.

· Handles corporate compliance including client requirements relating to insurance and certifications, quarterly and annual business tax filing requirements and annual insurance policy audits.

· Ongoing review of pending customer invoices to drive cash collections.

Experience

· Experience with final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data and reporting.

· Excellent computer skills and proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro and other business software. Prior experience with ADP is a plus.

· Outstanding trustworthiness, integrity, and solid moral judgment.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in an effective and efficient manner.

· Excellent and clear verbal and written communications, people skills, supervisory skills, and experience leading a team to success.

· Strong business acumen, strict attention to detail and organizational and time management skills.

· Comprehensive knowledge of federal, multi-state, local laws, regulations and standards pertaining to financial management and accounting and benefits administration.

· Expert problem solver, analytical thinker, and decision-maker.

· A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and/or 10+ years of experience in a senior finance position.

· Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), finance, budgeting, financial data analysis, accounting, job costing, the mathematics of financial management and cost control principles.
