The Gather Company Collection | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Create Extraordinary Food. Craft Unforgettable Experiences.
At The Gather Company, exceptional hospitality is elevated with exceptional food. We are seeking a talented, organized, and dependable Chef to lead the daily culinary operation for breakfast and our signature high tea experience at two of Pittsburgh’s distinctive boutique inns—The Inn on Negley in Shadyside and Boggs Mansion in the historic Mexican War Streets.
This is an ideal opportunity for a culinary professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll be hands-on in the kitchen while also taking ownership of the planning, preparation, organization, and execution that make a small kitchen run exceptionally well.
Working with our General Manager, you’ll help ensure our breakfast and high tea programs consistently deliver the quality, presentation, and hospitality our guests expect. You’ll lead by example, keep the kitchen organized and prepared, and make sure the team is always thinking beyond today’s service to what needs to happen tomorrow and throughout the week.
If you enjoy creating beautiful food from scratch, leading a small team, and taking pride in a kitchen that is organized, prepared, and running smoothly, we’d love to meet you.
About You
You’re a strong cook who understands that being a Chef is about more than preparing great food. You naturally plan ahead. You look at reservations, upcoming tea services, events, inventory, and prep needs and make sure the kitchen is ready before it needs to be. You are highly organized and comfortable working from—and holding others accountable to—checklists, recipes, prep sheets, production schedules, and established standards.
You’re also a leader. You communicate clearly, set expectations, help others stay on task, and enjoy working hands-on alongside your team. Most importantly, you take ownership. When you are leading the kitchen, you treat its success as your responsibility.
