Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Services Associate to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for our clients, supporting a diverse portfolio of bookkeeping and compliance engagements. You will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely accounting services across multiple clients and work streams.

Responsibilities

Maintain complete and accurate books for multiple clients across a variety of industries, including general ledger management, bank reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
Process payroll for client businesses and prepare and file all associated payroll tax returns (federal and state), including Forms 941, 940, and applicable state filings.
Prepare and file annual 1099 information returns (Forms 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, and others as required).
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions on behalf of clients.
Prepare and file local Business Privilege (BPT) and Mercantile tax returns across multiple municipalities on behalf of clients, including tracking filing requirements and assisting with related notices.
Communicate proactively with clients regarding deadlines, open items, and accounting questions.
Collaborate with our tax team to ensure accounting records are prepared and organized in support of annual tax return preparation.

Skills

3-5 years of experience in public accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar client-facing accounting role.
Proficiency with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online is required.
QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is preferred but not required.
Strong working knowledge of payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, sales tax, 1099 filing requirements, and local BPT/Mercantile taxes across multiple municipalities.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
