A position as a Senior Chemist and Chemical Engineer in the Steam Plant Chemistry team is for you! This position is for a fleet support engineer to support steam plant chemistry and cleanliness issues across the entire nuclear fleet. Applicants are welcome at either the NY or PA sites.
In this role you will:
- Solve problems associated with chemistry and cleanliness control in Naval nuclear steam plants.
- Perform trials, tests, and/or experiments to support engineering, production, and/or R&D activities.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources such as experiments and studies.
- Develop technically and economically sound recommendations and prepare comprehensive documented observations, analyses, and interpretations of results and establish operating equipment specifications.
- Develop and recommend new processes and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of small and large projects which require interfacing with various NNL and external organizations.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, to evaluate data to draw conclusions about chemistry trends, and to multi-task within a fast-paced environment supporting the Navy.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

$95,700.00 - $149,600.00 annually
