What You'll Do

Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging group and one-on-one life enrichment programs that promote physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being for residents.

Develop activity calendars, organize special events and outings, and adapt programming to meet the changing interests and abilities of residents, including those living with memory impairment.

Complete required documentation, resident assessments, care plans, progress notes, and participation records while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers while collaborating with nursing staff and other departments to provide person-centered programming.

Assist with departmental budgeting, attend care conferences and interdisciplinary meetings, and contribute ideas that enhance resident engagement across the continuum of care.

Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members while delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Work Schedule

PRN (as needed) Monday-Sunday, 9:30am- 5:30pm

Requirements:

Required:

Associate degree in Recreation Therapy from an accredited college or university or five (5) years of equivalent experience in a long-term care setting.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop engaging programs that meet the diverse interests and abilities of older adults.
Strong documentation, time management, and teamwork skills.
Ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred:

Experience with recreational programming, music, arts and crafts, or other enrichment activities for older adults.
Knowledge of the aging process and experience working with seniors.
Experience supporting residents living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.
Previous experience in senior living, healthcare, or long-term care.
