Trading Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Trading Associate to join our investment team.

Position Summary

The Trading Associate plays a vital role in supporting portfolio management, trading operations, and investment execution across client accounts. This position is responsible for accurately executing trades, assisting with portfolio rebalancing, managing incoming cash flows, maintaining trading documentation, and ensuring efficient day-to-day investment operations.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment where accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement are essential. While this position primarily focuses on trading and investment operations, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with advisors, portfolio managers, custodians, and internal team members to support exceptional client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Execute equity, ETF, mutual fund, and fixed-income trades accurately and efficiently across client portfolios
Support portfolio rebalancing activities to maintain investment objectives and model allocations
Invest incoming client deposits and manage cash movements according to established portfolio strategies
Monitor accounts for tax loss harvesting opportunities, cash needs, exceptions, and operational issues
Research and resolve trade-related questions, account discrepancies, and operational exceptions
Maintain complete and accurate trading documentation while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
Prepare, review, and verify account and transaction information for accuracy
Utilize portfolio management and trading platforms, including WealthPort or similar systems, to execute and monitor trading activity
Generate reports and provide investment operations support as needed
Collaborate with advisors, portfolio managers, and operations staff to ensure timely execution of investment-related activities
Identify opportunities to improve trading workflows, technology utilization, and operational efficiency
Continue developing knowledge of investment markets, trading practices, portfolio management, and industry regulations

Qualifications

Required

3–5+ years of experience in investment trading, portfolio administration, wealth management, or investment operations
Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
Strong technology aptitude and ability to quickly learn new systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism, accountability, and ownership

Preferred

Experience working in an RIA or wealth management firm
We are fiduciaries and fee-only. The ideal candidate will have a Series 65 license, or willingness to obtain one in the future.
Experience with WealthPort, Black Diamond, or similar portfolio management and trading platforms is a benefit.
Knowledge of portfolio rebalancing, investment operations, and capital markets
Client service or investment support experience

Schedule

Full-time
Monday through Friday
Typical hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Eastern
