Full Job Description

Substitute Teacher Service Inc. is seeking a qualified applicant to fill an Long Term High School Mathematics Substitute role within the Chartiers Valley School District.

Must be PA Mathematics Certified.

The position starts in November 2026 and will last 3 months.

Rate of pay is $150, paid through Substitute Teacher Service.

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Math Teacher to inspire and educate students in elementary and early childhood education settings. This paid position involves delivering engaging math instruction, developing curriculum, and supporting student growth through assessment-driven strategies. If you are passionate about teaching young learners and have experience working with children, especially those with diverse needs, this role is perfect for you!

Responsibilities

Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and learning technology tools
Deliver engaging math instruction tailored to students’ developmental levels, including those in special education or preschool settings
Utilize assessment-driven instruction methods to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a positive learning environment through conflict management and behavior management techniques
Collaborate with colleagues on instructional design, academic interventions, and implementing Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks
Conduct student assessments and analyze performance data to inform instructional decisions and support individual learning needs
Incorporate literacy education, physical education, library services, and childcare principles where appropriate to support holistic development

Skills

Strong knowledge of math concepts
Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design
Familiarity with special education practices, including working with students with disabilities and implementing academic interventions
Ability to analyze student performance data for quantitative analysis of progress and tailored instruction
Classroom management expertise combined with excellent communication skills for effective teacher collaboration and student engagement
