Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Originator to join our thriving financial services team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage loan process from initial inquiry to loan closing, ensuring a seamless experience that aligns with industry regulations and company standards. Your expertise in mortgage lending, customer service, and financial sales will drive client satisfaction and contribute to our growth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your industry knowledge, negotiation skills, and compliance acumen to make a meaningful impact in the home financing journey of our clients.

Responsibilities

Engage with prospective clients to understand their financial needs and explain various mortgage options, including conforming and non-conforming loans.
Analyze credit reports, income documentation, and financial data to assess borrower eligibility in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and other regulatory standards such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act).
Utilize mortgage software and financial tools like Quicken or similar platforms to process loan applications efficiently and accurately.
Conduct thorough credit analysis, risk assessment, and underwriting support to ensure compliance with all loan regulations and banking standards.
Negotiate terms with clients while adhering to fair housing regulations, ensuring transparent communication throughout the loan origination process.
Coordinate with underwriters, processors, escrow officers, and mortgage servicing teams to facilitate smooth loan processing from application to closing.
Maintain comprehensive records of all loan activities, contracts, and compliance documentation while ensuring adherence to banking regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on industry knowledge of financial regulations, including Fair Housing laws, TILA requirements, and banking compliance standards related to mortgage lending.
Provide exceptional customer service by guiding clients through the loan process, answering questions promptly, and delivering a positive experience at every touchpoint.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Loan Officer or Mortgage Loan Originator within the financial services or banking industry.
Strong knowledge of mortgage lending processes, underwriting procedures, and industry regulations such as FNMA standards and TILA compliance.
Proficiency with mortgage origination software (e.g., Quicken) and accounting software; familiarity with escrow management systems is a plus.
Excellent negotiation skills combined with a customer-centric approach to sales and service delivery.
Basic math skills including 10-key typing proficiency for data entry accuracy; ability to perform credit analysis and risk assessments confidently.
Understanding of fair housing laws, banking regulatory compliance, and mortgage servicing protocols.
Ability to analyze financial documents accurately using accounting software or other financial tools; experience in commercial lending analysis is advantageous.
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on transparency, compliance, and professionalism in all interactions.
