THE POSITION

The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, Southwestern Veterans Center provides dedicated, superior care to our veteran residents and their spouses. We are seeking hard working, enthusiastic, compassionate and caring people who are committed to providing exceptional care to our residents.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays a key role in providing complete nursing care and creating a therapeutic environment for residents. As a Registered Nurse, you will perform the following duties:

Care Delivery: Provide skilled, restorative, rehabilitative, supportive, and palliative nursing care to residents
Environment Support: Maintain a stable and therapeutic setting that promotes resident comfort and well being
Quality Assurance: Follow HIPAA standards and uphold all required nursing care guidelines
Resident Focus: Support resident quality of life through attentive, high quality nursing practices

Work Hours and Additional Information:

Part-time employment (8 hours/day; 20 hours/week).
Positions are available on the following shift:
- 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
Rotating holidays and weekends. Working every other weekend is required.
Lunch Period: 30 minutes
We offer a competitive salary and state benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance coverage; excellent vacation, sick, and holiday leave package; and retirement plan.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly salary of $44.12 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirements:

This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
If you are within 60 days of graduating from a school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Registered Nurse license.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
A conditional offer of employment may require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
