Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Paraplanner and New Business Processor to join our dynamic financial services team. This role involves supporting financial advisors by preparing comprehensive client proposals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and processing new business applications efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of investment management, and an ability to navigate complex financial concepts. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional client service and maintaining rigorous compliance standards. Key Responsibilities:

Assist financial advisors in preparing detailed financial plans and investment proposals aligned with client goals
Process new business applications accurately, ensuring all documentation complies with relevant regulations and internal policies
Conduct thorough due diligence to verify client information and assess potential risks, including fraud prevention and detection measures
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of securities law, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and regulatory reporting requirements
Support the onboarding process by coordinating with clients, custodians, and third-party providers to facilitate smooth account setup
Prepare and review client reports, financial analysis, and documentation for accuracy and completeness
Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit standards throughout processing activities
Utilize financial software tools for data entry, transaction processing, and reporting purposes
Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure all activities meet governmental accounting standards and industry regulations
Assist in identifying process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in new business processing

Experience

Candidates should possess a minimum of two years’ experience in financial services or related fields such as public accounting or investment management. Prior exposure to technical accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis is essential. Familiarity with a broad range of financial concepts—including cash management, banking operations, corporate accounting, and governmental accounting—is highly desirable. Experience working with financial software platforms used for regulatory reporting or financial analysis will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex information within a fast-paced environment. Ideal applicants will have knowledge of fraud prevention techniques, securities law regulations, GAAP standards, SOX compliance requirements, and governmental accounting practices.
