Vincentian Home is looking for a compassionate, creative, and energetic Activity Aide to join our Community Life Department!
The Community Life Team Member (Activity Aide) plays an important role in creating meaningful experiences and connections for our residents. From group activities and special events to one-on-one visits and sensory experiences, this position helps bring joy, engagement, and purpose to daily life at Vincentian.

- Assist with planning and implementing engaging programs, activities, and experiences for individuals and groups.

Develop activities that encourage socialization and promote social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, sensory, and physical wellness.

Incorporate the eight dimensions of wellness and intergenerational practices into programs and activities.

Provide meaningful one-on-one visits and sensory/environmental stimulation for residents.

Help create opportunities for lifelong learning, creativity, connection, and personal expression.

Support intergenerational programs and experiences involving residents, children, students, families, staff, and visitors.

Help create both intentional and organic opportunities for connection throughout the community.

Consider residents' individual interests, preferences, abilities, and needs when planning and delivering activities.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families through regular interaction and engagement.

Transport and assist residents to and from activities as needed.

Identify residents' activity interests, needs, and concerns and document this information in their care plans.

Document interactions with residents and families in accordance with state requirements.

Observe and communicate important information related to resident care to the Manager of Community Life.

Promote a resident-centered environment where residents, families, visitors, volunteers, and employees are treated with kindness, respect, dignity, and compassion.

Provide exceptional service and responsiveness while helping create positive experiences for residents and their families.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Community Life Department.

Help set up, organize, and maintain activity spaces and supplies.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas and storage spaces.

Follow appropriate infection control practices for activity supplies and equipment.

Assist with facility and operational needs related to Community Life programming.

Assist with training and supervision of new personnel and volunteers as assigned.

Attend department meetings, educational programs, and required Vincentian and Department of Health training.

Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Vincentian policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or equivalent.

NCCAP Activity Aide certification or eligibility for certification.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and implement programs and events.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.

Ability to build positive relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and at all levels of the organization.

Adaptability and willingness to work a flexible schedule based on community needs, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Previous experience in activities, life enrichment, recreation, senior care, or a related field.

Background or experience in music, art, or other creative activities.

Current and valid driver's license.

Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience using content management or activity programming software.

This position works primarily in a long-term care and senior living environment where residents, families, staff, volunteers, and visitors interact throughout the day.
The Community Life Team Member (Activity Aide) may work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings throughout the campus and may occasionally travel between areas of the facility as needed.
Employees work in an environment that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and may encounter conditions common to healthcare settings, including unpleasant odors, infectious diseases, bodily fluids or blood, hazardous materials, and facility equipment.
