Arbor Associates is partnering with Berkshire County's largest behavioral health and substance abuse services organization to place a Nurse Supervisor within its Community Services Division. This is a direct-hire, permanent position with the client — Arbor is facilitating the search on their behalf.
The Community Services Division operates a comprehensive, integrated system of care for adults living with serious mental illness (SMI) — including 24-hour staffed residential programs and community outreach through Integrated Care Teams. The division operates under the Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) model, funded by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, and serves individuals throughout Berkshire County in Pittsfield, Williamstown, and surrounding communities.
This is a supervisory nursing role with meaningful scope. You won't be managing a single unit — you'll be providing clinical nursing oversight across residential sites and community settings, supporting staff, and ensuring the health and safety of adults navigating the complexities of mental illness and, often, co-occurring physical health conditions.
Clinical Oversight & Direct Care

Provide nursing oversight across ACCS residential and community outreach programs

Conduct nursing assessments of individuals served; update assessments when health status changes

Monitor and manage complex medical conditions common in this population — including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary issues, and the physical health consequences of chronic mental illness

Coordinate access to medical and behavioral health care in partnership with integrated care teams and community providers

Provide episodic care and triage for individuals in residential settings as needed
Medication Administration & MAP Compliance

Oversee Medication Administration Program (MAP) compliance across assigned programs

Train and supervise staff in medication administration and symptom management

Ensure safe storage, dispensing, and documentation of medications per Massachusetts regulations
Staff Supervision & Training

Supervise nursing and direct care staff across multiple sites

Provide ongoing training and education on health promotion, symptom recognition, and chronic disease management

Serve as a clinical resource and first point of escalation for nursing questions and medical concerns
Coordination & Documentation

Collaborate with clinical team leaders, program directors, and care coordinators on individual care plans

Support transitions to and from acute care settings, including coordination with hospitals and community health providers

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record system

Participate in treatment planning, team meetings, and required clinical reviews
Health Promotion

Develop and implement health promotion strategies targeting modifiable risk factors among the population served

Educate individuals served and staff on wellness, prevention, and self-management

Required

Current Registered Nurse (R.N.) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (unrestricted)

Prior nursing experience in a community mental health, behavioral health, residential, or similar human services setting

Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort managing medically complex individuals in non-hospital settings

Ability to travel across Berkshire County to multiple program sites

Valid Massachusetts driver's license

Experience in an ACCS, DMH-funded, or community services environment

Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience

Familiarity with the Medication Administration Program (MAP) and Massachusetts DMH regulations

Experience working with adults with serious mental illness or co-occurring disorders

Knowledge of community resources in Berkshire County
