Full Job Description

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
- The Medical Assistant II is a part of the Cancer Center team. He/she is responsible for assisting the practitioners in the performance of procedures and other patient care required by the Patients. The Medical Assistant II functions clinically under the direction of the practitioners and will perform other duties as requested by the Office Coordinator and BFS operations Director. The Medical Assistant II will work collaboratively with other members of the team to ensure timely and smooth office flow, always keeping the needs of the patient first.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
- Experience:
  - At least 1 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician’s office preferred.
- Education and Training:
  - High School diploma or equivalent required.
  - Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- License, Certification & Registration:
  - CPR certification required within 90 days of hire (effective 3/1/21).
  - Certified Medical Asst (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required within 90 days of hire (effective 3/1/21).
- Other Requirements:
  - Experience in basic office skills required.
  - Data entry skills preferred.
  - Working knowledge of Windows based PC applications required.
  - Experience in scheduling, procedures, etc. preferred.
  - Ability to work independently and take direction.
  - Demonstrated ability to read and follow written/verbal direction.
  - Demonstrated ability to adapt to fast-paced, multifaceted position.
  - Good telephone communication skills.
  - Must be flexible to cover for vacations and earned time absences.
  - Flexible hours required. Self-motivated and ability to be independent and flexible within a team framework.
  - Sensitive to diverse cultures and cultural differences
  - Knowledge of community services
  - Demonstrates competency with specialized equipment and software.
  - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  - Must be willing to travel to satellite offices as requested.

Location: Berkshire Health Systems · BMC Hem-Onc
Schedule: Full Time, Shift 1, 8:00am-4:30pm
