Full Job Description

Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Sr. Mechanical Engineer position to support the design, development, testing, prototyping, manufacturing, and production transition of advanced mechanical and electromechanical systems supporting Navy tactical weapon platforms. The role involves mechanical design, electronics packaging, cable/interconnect design, circuit board integration, engineering test systems, and hardware lifecycle support from concept through production. The hiring manager is seeking a mechanical engineer with strong CAD expertise, hardware development experience, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams in a defense or highly regulated environment.

Location: Pittsfield, MA (Hybrid)
Position: Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Contract Length: 12–24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $46.99 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months relevant experience.
Schedule: First Shift

Clearance Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Ability to Obtain DoD Secret Clearance is preferred at time of hire.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 6+ months of relevant experience.
Mechanical design experience supporting product development and hardware engineering projects.
Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent modeling tools.
Experience creating engineering drawings, design documentation, and technical specifications.
Understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, and production processes.
Experience supporting mechanical or electromechanical hardware throughout the product lifecycle.
Ability to develop, modify, and maintain mechanical models and assemblies.
Experience collaborating with electrical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and hardware integration practices.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Experience working in defense, aerospace, military, electronics, industrial equipment, or other regulated engineering environments.
