Pastry Assistant Opportunity – Join Our Pastry Team!

We are seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented Pastry Assistant to join our team. If you have a passion for baking and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to meet you!

Job Overview:

Your primary responsibilities will focus on the art of doughnut production, including proofing and glazing. Additionally, you will assist in the preparation of a small, curated assortment of baked goods. We operate a small, open kitchen, so maintaining a clean, organized and positive workspace is essential for our team and our guests.

Duties:

Assist in doughnut preparation, including but not limited to dough production, glazes, toppings and fillings; Following established recipes and safety standards
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and food processors safely and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances to uphold hygiene standards
Follow food safety protocols for handling, storage, and sanitation to prevent contamination
Aid in inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of stock levels
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during morning doughnut/breakfast service

Qualifications:

Previous experience in pastry/baking, professional or at-home.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures and operating various kitchen equipment safely
Experience in food handling, safety standards in production, and food safety management systems is preferable but will train
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members
Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal presentation guidelines

Requirements:

Availability: Must be available for early morning shifts and weekend work
Work Environment: Comfortable working in a compact, open-kitchen setting where you will occasionally interact with customers
Mindset: Highly organized, reliable, and eager to learn new techniques
