Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Director of Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Operations with cardiac cath experience to lead and oversee the strategic and operational management of multiple outpatient surgical facilities within a designated region. This pivotal role involves ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, optimizing clinical and administrative performance, and fostering a culture of excellence in patient care. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership in healthcare management, nursing expertise, and operational acumen to drive efficiency, quality, and growth across all centers under their supervision.
Role Overview
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Regional Director of Operations serves as a senior operational leader responsible for the performance, growth, and strategic direction of a portfolio of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. This role ensures each ASC operates at the highest standards of clinical quality, financial discipline, regulatory compliance, and physician partnership. The Director drives enterprise alignment, operational scalability, and long‑term value creation across the organization’s ASC network.
Executive Responsibilities
Enterprise Operations & Performance Leadership
- Provide strategic oversight and operational governance for multiple ASCs, ensuring consistent execution of corporate standards and operating models
- Serve as a primary resource for center‑level administrators through structured performance management, KPI accountability, and operational excellence initiatives
- Establishes administrator relationships to drive systemwide benchmarks for efficiency, throughput, staffing optimization, and patient experience
- Direct operational readiness for new procedures, expansions, and technology adoption
- Is a liaison for the company at governing board meetings.
- Collaborate with the facility administrator and corporate leadership to create and validate the Monthly Operating Report (MOR) for each facility under your purview.
- Conduct routine site visits, operational audits, and performance reviews with ASC Administrators
Financial Stewardship & P&L Accountability
- Understand and support administrators and physicians with P&L for assigned centers, ensuring sustainable margin performance and disciplined financial management
- Participate in annual budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial review processes with administrators and corporate finance
- Support enterprise cost‑reduction strategies, supply chain optimization, and vendor contract performance
- Partner with revenue cycle leadership to ensure coding accuracy, AR performance, and payer alignment
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost containment, and margin improvement
Regulatory, Quality, & Risk Governance
- Partner with leadership to ensure all centers maintain continuous compliance with CMS, AAAHC, OSHA, HIPAA, and state regulatory bodies
- Partner with other leadership and divisions to ensure survey readiness, oversee corrective action plans, and quality improvement programs across the portfolio
- Provide executive oversight for risk management, incident review, and patient safety initiatives
- Champion a culture of high reliability, clinical excellence, and accountability
Leadership Development & Organizational Strength
- Develop and mentor ASC Administrators and clinical leaders, building a strong leadership pipeline
- Monitor and give guidance to administrators on staffing models, competencies, and workforce planning to ensure they align with operational and financial objectives
- Be the primary contact and communicator with facility physicians to drive change management efforts, support organizational growth, integration, and performance improvement
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for key roles across centers
Physician Partnership & Strategic Alignment
- Serve as the executive liaison to physician partners, ensuring alignment of operational priorities, growth strategies, and service line development
- Play a key role in physician recruitment, onboarding, and engagement to strengthen long‑term partnership value
- Facilitate transparent communication between surgeons, anesthesia groups, and corporate leadership
- Serves as a direct contact and resource for physician partners and non-partner physicians.
Strategic Growth & Market Expansion
- Evaluate market dynamics, competitive positioning, and referral trends to identify growth opportunities
- Act as a subject matter expert for de novo ASCs, expansions, and strategic partnerships
- Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to drive volume growth and service line diversification
Qualifications
- BSN degree; Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred
- 5–10+ years of ASC or surgical services leadership, including multi‑site oversight
- Strong knowledge of CMS Conditions for Coverage, AAAHC standards, and state regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated success in financial management, operational optimization, and team leadership
- Excellent communication, analytical, and physician relationship‑building skills
- Ability to travel on average of 50% to assigned centers, corporate events and other assigned support areas
- Able to work with a high degree of autonomy and identify operational oppertunitys without constant direction (Have a strong entrepreneurial spirt)

Pay: $115,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
