Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Carrier Sales Representative with proven drayage experience to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing carrier relationships, negotiating rates, and coordinating transportation solutions within the supply chain. Your expertise in transportation management systems and logistics sales will drive efficient freight movement, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to the overall success of our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your negotiation skills and industry knowledge will make a tangible impact.

Salary + Commissions

Key Responsibilities

Source, qualify, and develop a reliable network of drayage carriers for port, rail, and intermodal freight movements.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with carriers and customers to ensure exceptional service, capacity availability, and long-term partnerships.
Negotiate carrier rates, contracts, and service agreements to optimize transportation costs while maintaining service quality and profitability.
Coordinate container pickups, deliveries, appointments, terminal requirements, and transportation schedules to ensure efficient freight movement.
Book, dispatch, and manage customer freight shipments, including load assignments, shipment tracking, and proactive issue resolution.
Monitor pickup, transit, and delivery status of assigned loads to ensure on-time performance and customer satisfaction.
Analyze freight markets, capacity trends, and pricing conditions to develop competitive transportation solutions and provide market intelligence to customers and leadership.
Perform freight and capacity analysis to support spot quotes, dedicated opportunities, RFP responses, and strategic customer pricing initiatives.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics technologies to manage carrier relationships, freight operations, and business development activities.
Support customer growth and revenue generation through quoting, account management, lead generation, and new business development efforts.
Collaborate with sales, operations, customer service, and leadership teams to deliver seamless transportation solutions and exceptional customer experiences.
Manage service, operational, and financial risk while ensuring compliance with DOT, FMCSA, port, rail, and other applicable transportation regulations and safety standards.
Meet or exceed monthly revenue, gross profit, margin, and performance objectives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience in drayage, container transportation, intermodal logistics, freight brokerage, or related supply chain operations.
Strong understanding of drayage operations, port and rail terminal processes, freight forwarding, 3PL services, NVOCC operations, and transportation management.
Experience negotiating carrier rates, contracts, and pricing strategies in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS); McLeod experience preferred.
Working knowledge of platforms and logistics software applications.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, develop carrier capacity, and deliver outstanding customer service.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
