Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the credit evaluation process by collecting and analyzing financial data, assisting with underwriting procedures, and ensuring compliance. Your proactive approach will help facilitate smooth lease and loan processing and risk assessment, contributing to our company's continued growth and success.

Duties

Assist the Credit Department in day-to-day activities.
Follow up with brokers and customers, as needed.
Conduct preliminary underwriting on new deals, including running credit reports, review applications and look up asset values.
Enter new account information into Dakota’s databases.
Possess basic understanding of the various contracts Dakota uses.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.s
Aid in processing tasks such as data entry, documentation review, and fraud prevention measures

Experience

Previous experience in equipment finance highly desirable
Strong understanding of financial concepts such as cash flow analysis, financial statement interpretation, and risk assessment
Proficiency in Excel
Knowledge of commercial lending processes, loan origination procedures, and industry-specific regulations
Familiarity with Salesforce
Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative research, risk analysis, and compliance checks effectively
