Full Job Description

The Live in Direct Support Professional is a direct-care staff position (LIVING ON SITE) 2 weeks at a time is responsible for the operation, coordination, instruction and supervision of consumers in residential support homes or life enrichment center facilities while ensuring the protection of the individuals' rights. This position is responsible for assisting individual consumers in acquiring and maintaining self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based settings, promoting a safe and healthy living environment and increasing the capabilities of the individual consumer within the policies and procedures of the organization. Preparing meals and cleaning up meal-related items. Providing medication administration and appointment transportation services. The primary responsibilities of Live-In staff services include the following: Performing light housekeeping tasks (dusting, vacuuming, making beds, changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, etc.) Washing and ironing laundry running errands, accompanying clients to appointments and outings. Personal Services are personal in nature and often include assistance with activities of daily living. Live – In staff are generally designated as “Home Managers during their working period and are to ensure that the home runs according to Innovative Steps policies and procedures and HHSC rules and guidelines. Live in staff are required to complete (1) shift note within a 24-hour period per client in the home. Shift notes should generally be done (3p-11p) Mon-Fri and Sat – Sun (7a-7p) if the individual attends a day program throughout the week.

This is an ON SITE LIVE-IN Position (staff resides in the home) caring for 1-3 special needs adults.

Schedule- Live in 24 hours

License: Current driver's license (Required)

Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly

Pay: $115.00 per day

Benefit Conditions: Workers Comp

Work Remotely: No

The live-in staff is solely responsible for repairing or replacing items in the home that was not previously broken prior to this contract date. Staff is responsible for notifying operations no later than one business day if furniture/appliances/electrical outlets/ light fixtures/vehicle maintenance/exterior issues need repaired. Staff are not allowed to be in their bedroom during normal waking hours, while individuals are in common areas. Staff should sleep when all of the individuals are in the home sleeping only. Management will conduct random visits to ensure safety and upkeep of the home and the vehicles.
