Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Landscape Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the purchasing to maintain inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts, and supporting the overall logistics of our distribution center. This position requires strong organizational skills and a keen understanding of inventory management processes.

Responsibilities

sources, purchases, and manages materials like plants, soil, and hardscape for landscaping projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness by negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, maintaining inventory, and collaborating with project managers.
The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, as well as knowledge of landscape materials and market trends to optimize procurement strategies and support project success.
Supplier Management: Research, identify, and cultivate strong relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure a reliable supply of quality materials and services.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Landscape Knowledge: Expertise in plant materials, hardscape, and other supplies used in landscaping projects.
Negotiation & Communication: Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and communicate clearly with internal teams.
Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and keep track of orders and inventory.
Analytical Skills: Capable of analyzing market trends, supplier performance, and procurement data to identify opportunities and solve problems.
Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve discrepancies and issues related to orders, deliveries, and supplier performance.
Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement systems, inventory software, and other relevant business applications.
Procurement & Order Management: Create purchase orders, track orders, and ensure the timely delivery of plants, materials, and subcontracted services to project sites.
Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, maintain accurate inventory records, and reorder necessary items to prevent shortages and optimize stock for landscaping jobs.
Budget & Cost Management: Track procurement budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate favorable pricing and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Quality Control: Verify that purchased materials meet quality standards and project specifications.
Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and pricing to make strategic and informed purchasing decisions.
Internal Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, installation teams, and other internal departments to understand their needs and ensure smooth project execution.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier contracts, invoices, and inventory.
