Cardiovascular Technologist – Methodist Celina Medical Center

At Methodist Health System, our cardiovascular teams play a critical role in delivering advanced, compassionate care. As a Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS) in the Cath Lab, you will assist physicians with invasive cardiovascular procedures and support patient care throughout the diagnostic and interventional process.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced cardiac team while contributing to high-quality cardiovascular care in a collaborative clinical environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will:

Assist physicians with invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab.
Function as a monitor technologist, interpreting basic and advanced dysrhythmias and EKG rhythms, operating the physiologic recorder, and interpreting normal and abnormal pressures and waveforms.
Assist as a scrub technologist during most procedures and operate imaging equipment under the direction of the physician.
Support circulator duties during diagnostic procedures, including monitoring patient status, handing supplies to the scrub technologist, and operating imaging equipment.
Prepare patients for procedures, including prepping and marking arterial pulses, and setting up and maintaining the sterile field.
Remove arterial and/or venous sheaths post-procedure, maintain hemostasis, and monitor patient status.
Troubleshoot cath lab equipment and demonstrate theoretical knowledge of procedures and medications used.
Order supplies and maintain effective inventory control for the cath lab; clean and stock the lab.
Assist with transporting patients to and from the department.
Assist with orientation and training of students and new staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or commensurate healthcare experience.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
RCIS certification within 18 months of hire.

Alternative Certification Path

ARRT certification and Texas RT(R) license accepted in lieu of RCIS.

WORK SCHEDULE

8-hour shifts, on-call rotation required.
Monday – Friday.
