Legal Receptionist – Edgett Law Firm

Location: McKinney, Texas (In-Office Only)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Compensation: $34,000–$42,000 + Bonuses + Benefits after 90 days

About Us:

The Edgett Law Firm is a respected criminal defense and juvenile defense practice located in McKinney, Collin County, near Coit and US 380. Our team of about 10-15 dedicated professionals is committed to helping clients navigate some of the most challenging times in their lives.

We are seeking a Legal Receptionist who is professional, dependable, highly organized, and eager to grow with our firm. We are excited to welcome a new team member who is ready to build a long-term career in the legal field.

Position Overview

As our Legal Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, prospective clients, and visitors. You will play a vital role in the initial client intake qualifying, providing outstanding customer service, and supporting our attorneys and legal team. This role goes beyond a traditional front-desk position—you will act as a gatekeeper, team support, and trusted communicator, ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive experience for every client.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the initial contact for all potential client calls, guiding them through intake and onboarding.
Greet visitors and clients with professionalism and warmth.
Manage scheduling for attorneys, staff, and client meetings.
Draft and send correspondence to clients, courts, and third parties.
Maintain client files (electronic and paper) and update the firm’s CRM (Clio).
Provide status updates and follow-ups with potential, current, and former clients.
Assist attorneys and staff with administrative support, filing, scanning, and notarizing.
Track and report client intake metrics, referral sources, and key performance indicators.
Manage incoming/outgoing mail and monitor office supply inventory.
Present updates during weekly team meetings.
Assist with Opening New Client Case Files

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

Strong customer service and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude.

Preferred:

1+ year of phone experience in a law firm or court environment.
Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
Life experiences that foster empathy, understanding, and resilience—qualities that help connect with clients who may be facing difficult situations.
