SUMMARY OVERVIEW

The Baggage Drop Agent is responsible for assisting passengers with luggage check-in and ensuring an efficient, accurate, and customer-focused baggage drop experience. This role verifies travel documentation, processes baggage using airline systems, and ensures compliance with safety, security, and airline policies. The Baggage Drop Agent plays a critical role in maintaining smooth airport operations while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet passengers at the baggage drop area and assist with luggage check-in
Verify passenger tickets and travel documentation
Ensure correct tagging and processing of each piece of luggage
Explain baggage policies, including weight limits, restricted items, and special handling procedures
Operate computer systems to process baggage and generate luggage tags
Assist passengers with self-service kiosks, when needed
Handle oversized, fragile, or special care baggage with attention to detail
Coordinate with airline staff regarding special luggage handling requirements
Maintain an organized and efficient baggage drop area
Collaborate with security personnel to ensure all baggage meets safety standards
Report baggage irregularities, discrepancies, or security concerns immediately
Provide passengers with information regarding flight status, gate locations, and airport services
Ensure a smooth and timely baggage handling process for all customers
Follow all company, airline, and airport protocols related to baggage handling
Stay informed about updates to baggage handling procedures and technologies
Record and report baggage handling activities and daily passenger interactions in accordance with company and airport regulations
Demonstrate strong problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

18 years of age or older
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, including written documentation
Must have reliable transportation
Demonstrated customer service experience preferred
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY / WORKING CONDITIONS MAY INCLUDE

Prolonged standing and walking
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
Ability to reach with hands and arms; grasp, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarms in a terminal environment
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
