Salary: $70k - 100k per year + none

Spherion Vermont is seeking a Staff Accountant to aid in the preparation and maintenance of our client's financial records. This role is responsible for tracking the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other key financial activities.

Responsibilities:

Manage general ledger accounts, including monthly bank reconciliations, entry preparation, and monthly book closing.
Perform general cost accounting, track Work in Process (WIP), and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules.
Oversee accounts payable invoice verification and processing, while managing accounts receivable collections.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and support external auditors during annual reviews.
Prepare and file local tax forms (e.g., Sales and Use Tax), annual 1099s, and assist corporate accountants with partner tax filings.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:

Prior experience with Ajera accounting and project management software.
Direct exposure to project-based or cost-accounting environments, specifically tracking Work in Process (WIP).
Track record of assisting with external financial audits and local tax filings.

Education:
Bachelors

Experience:
4-7 years

Qualifications:

Associate???s degree in Accounting or a related financial field, paired with a minimum of three years of professional accounting experience.
Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), general financial accounting, and cost accounting.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills alongside exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail.
Demonstrated collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
