Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to handle a diverse array of legal disputes across multiple practice areas, including estate planning, real estate law, business law, probate, trust litigation, and general civil litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, and the ability to take on litigation cases without supervision, from start to finish. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Manage and lead litigation cases from inception through resolution.
Conduct comprehensive legal research.
Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and other litigation-related correspondence with precision and clarity.
Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel to reach favorable settlements or resolutions that align with client objectives.
Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, mediations, and depositions while maintaining professionalism and a proactive approach.
Maintain meticulous records of case developments, deadlines, and documentation within the law office management system.
Ensure compliance with all ethical and professional standards.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the Utah state bar and active license to practice in Utah is required.
3+ years of litigation experience as an attorney.
Familiarity with Utah court procedures and rules.
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills demonstrated through clear drafting of pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
Courtroom experience or comfort to appear in court.
Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
