**We're looking for a Accountant/Senior Bookkeeper**
You’re the kind of person who notices when numbers don’t tie out before anyone else does. You don’t wait to be told what’s missing, what’s late, or what needs fixing — you jump in, ask the right questions, and keep things moving.
You like clean books, clear communication, and solid systems. You take pride in accuracy. You’re dependable, steady, and sharp enough to handle complex entries without getting overwhelmed.
You also want more than a “just do the tasks” accounting job. You want to be trusted. You want your work to matter. You want to help a growing company serve clients well and scale the right way.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
Does This Sound Familiar?
You’re tired of:
- Cleaning up messy books without the authority to improve the process
- Working with teams that don’t communicate clearly or follow through
- Being micromanaged even though you’re fully capable of owning your work
- Feeling like accounting is treated as basic data entry instead of strategic, high-value work
- Being in roles where urgency constantly overrides accuracy
You want:
- A role where your attention to detail is genuinely valued
- A team that respects deadlines, communication, and follow-through
- The chance to improve systems, not just maintain them
- Meaningful work with business owners who want to understand their numbers
- Flexibility, autonomy, and room to grow into a bigger role over time

Attention to detail matters here in a very real way, so when you apply, you must include the EXACT phrase "Numbers are my jam. - Train and mentor bookkeeping staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in bookkeeping practices
- Establish standardized procedures to ensure accurate and seamless handoff of financial records
- Review financial reports and statements for management, clients, and regulatory purposes
- Assess and implement accounting software tools that facilitate efficient bookkeeping processes
- Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations, industry standards, and best practices to ensure compliance
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and projections

- Act as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and maintaining professional communication
- Assist in managing client expectations and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
- Maintain data security and confidentiality in all bookkeeping activities

This role has real room to grow. For the right person, it can evolve into a more management-focused position and become a true right-hand role within the company. If you’re someone who wants to lead, improve, and take on more responsibility over time, we’d love to see that ambition.
We promote based on ownership, not tenure.

You know how much trust is built on accurate books, timely follow-up, and calm, dependable execution.
At Build Books, we work with construction and trade business owners who need more than surface-level support. They need a team that helps them understand their numbers and make smart decisions as they grow. If you love the idea of combining solid accounting skills with real operational impact, you’ll feel at home here.
We’re looking for someone special to join us as soon as possible, and we truly can’t wait to meet the right person.
