Overview

Livermore Fine Arts Studio is seeking a passionate and skilled Private Music Teacher in one or more of the following instruments: voice, guitar, piano, strings, bass, or drums. The goal is to inspire students through high-quality, personalized music instruction. This role focuses on one-on-one and small-group lessons for students ranging from early childhood to adult learners. You will foster creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music through engaging, well-structured lessons in a supportive studio environment.

This is a paid position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ musical development while contributing to a vibrant and professional fine arts studio.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging private music lessons tailored to each student’s age, ability, and musical goals, incorporating a variety of styles and techniques.
Design structured lesson plans and long-term learning paths that support consistent student progress.
Maintain a positive, focused, and encouraging lesson environment that supports learning and musical exploration.
Prepare students for studio recitals, performances, and special events that highlight musical growth and achievement.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and developmental stages.
Provide clear, constructive feedback and individualized instruction to support technique, musicianship, and artistic expression.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and studio staff to support a high standard of instruction and professionalism.
Incorporate complementary creative disciplines (such as songwriting, basic production, theater elements, or photography) when appropriate, though not required.

Experience

Experience teaching private music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels, or a strong desire to grow as a private instructor within a supportive studio environment.
A foundational ability to plan and deliver engaging one-on-one lessons that are structured, individualized, and aligned with each student’s musical goals.
Developing skills in lesson pacing, student engagement, and clear communication with both students and parents in a private lesson setting.
Experience working with children and adolescents in one-on-one or small-group environments, with openness to feedback, mentorship, and continued professional development.
An understanding of age-appropriate teaching strategies and learning styles, with a willingness to grow in behavior management and student motivation techniques.
Comfort teaching adult students in a private lesson format, or interest in expanding into this area.
Additional experience in related creative disciplines (such as theater, dance, production, songwriting, or photography) is a plus but not required.
