Corporate Sign Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced and skilled Signage Fabricator to join our production team. This is a hands-on position responsible for fabricating high-quality custom architectural signage using aluminum, acrylic, plastics, and other materials.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in signage or sheet metal fabrication, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to accurately interpret drawings, measurements, and work-order documentation. We are looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, works safely, and consistently produces accurate, high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble custom interior and exterior signage according to work orders, shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Work collaboratively with the Production Manager and other team members to complete projects accurately and on schedule.
- Measure, lay out, cut, form, drill, fasten, weld, and assemble aluminum, acrylic, plastics, and other signage materials.
- Set up and safely operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Operate sheet metal equipment, including shears, brake presses, roll formers, and related machinery.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, rulers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform metal forming, bending, riveting, spot welding, and custom fabrication.
- Accurately calculate dimensions and material requirements to reduce waste and maintain product quality.
- Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy, appearance, workmanship, and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify fabrication issues and communicate concerns before they affect quality or production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while communicating effectively with production, project management, and other departments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in signage fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, metalworking, or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Basic MIG or TIG welding experience.
- Experience with aluminum fabrication, metal forming, bending, riveting, spot welding, and custom assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and metal layout drawings.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills, including fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.
- Proficiency with common fabrication tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and maintain an efficient workflow.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 5S methodology.
- Familiarity with quality-control procedures and continuous-improvement practices.
