<Overview>
We are seeking a highly organized and personable Medical Receptionist/Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves managing front desk operations, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting medical administrative functions to ensure smooth clinic workflows. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience working within a medical office environment.

<Duties>

Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression while managing multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process claims efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, NextGen.
Schedule patient appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software; coordinate follow-up visits and care plans as directed by healthcare providers.
Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and data entry.
Assist with billing processes including medical collection efforts, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical billing procedures to support revenue cycle management.
Support clinical staff by preparing for next day appointments, managing filing systems and handling intake procedures for new patients.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; utilize office management tools for efficient administrative support.

<Experience>

Prior experience working in a healthcare setting as a medical receptionist or front desk staff is required; clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as NextGen, Athena or eClinicalWorks is essential for managing patient information accurately.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing practices is necessary to perform documentation review and insurance verification effectively.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality.
Strong organizational skills complemented by clerical experience including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and appointment scheduling.
Bilingual abilities are considered an asset to better serve diverse patient populations.
