Position: Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Pay Rate: $22
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00AM–2:30PM

Position Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Shipping & Receiving Specialist, responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of goods in and out of our facility. This role plays a crucial part in supporting production and business operations while upholding safety and quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations: Oversee all aspects of warehousing, including material receipt, unloading, inspection, and the shipping of finished products, in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Receiving & Inspection: Carefully receive and verify incoming deliveries, inspecting for accuracy, damage, and compliance against freight bills, vendor invoices, bills of lading, customer orders, and manifests. Report and document any discrepancies.
Inventory Management: Maintain precise records for all received, shipped, damaged, or defective materials. Update inventory and purchase order systems to ensure accurate tracking of incoming and outgoing goods, including back-ordered and cancelled items.
Order Fulfillment: Gather, verify, scan, label, pack/wrap, and load items for shipment according to order specifications and required transport methods, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
Inventory Security: Maintain orderly stocking, precise inventory levels, and secure storage to facilitate smooth production and timely fulfillment of orders.

Additional Responsibilities

Participate in regular cycle counts, row audits, and resolve inventory discrepancies to support inventory accuracy.
Conduct preventative maintenance on shipping and receiving equipment as per schedule.
Analyze shipping and receiving processes, recommending and implementing process improvements as required.
Provide regular updates to management regarding inventory status, issues, and suggestions for efficiency enhancements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse environment.
Vocational training or relevant warehouse certifications preferred.
Proficient knowledge of shipping/receiving processes and inventory management systems.

Key Competencies

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to follow established procedures, with situational flexibility when necessary.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Aptitude for adapting procedures, techniques, and/or equipment to complete assigned tasks.
