Full Job Description

Job Overview
This will be a hybrid position. Candidates must come into the office in South Hills 3 days a week. Work-Life Balance is key.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager / Controller who has the desire to grow professionally. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. You will lead a team of accounting professionals while managing financial reporting, GAAP, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. Ideal candidates will come from large public or corporate accounting or have experience auditing a law firm or working in a law firm.

Duties

Preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate employee compensation.
Implement and maintain internal controls.
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Manage cash flow and optimize cash management processes.
Supervise the implementation and maintenance of financial software systems.
Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure the timely resolution of audit findings.
Provide guidance on double entry bookkeeping practices to ensure accurate record-keeping.
Develop and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Skills

Strong expertise in financial analysis and reporting.
Experience with large public accounting firms or large corporate consulting companies or a law firm experience is preferred.
CPA or CMA is desired but not a deal breaker if the expreience lines up.
A Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Finance
Proficient in payroll management and compliance regulations.
Excellent financial acumen with a deep understanding of accounting principles.
Experience with double-entry bookkeeping methods.
Solid cash management skills to maintain optimal liquidity for operations.
Proven track record in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.
Ability to perform detailed account analysis for accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Familiarity with various financial software applications, particularly Sage.
