Full Job Description

As a Sales Trainee you will work directly with the Sales Department and Management to service accounts and build new business within an assigned territory. The ideal Candidate for this position must have strong communication skills with the confidence to influence key decision makers and excellent Customer service skills. This is an entry level position with paid training.

DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess the following skill and mind set:

Knowledge in the field of wholesale and/or retail C-Store/Grocery distribution is helpful.
Ability to work both independently and with a team.
Arrange products according to a plan-o-gram and/or follow schematics created by a Merchandising Manager.
Place price and description shelf tags; re-arrange store fixtures; build shelving/fixtures/displays in compliance with regulations and Company procedures.
Originate display/merchandising ideas to maximize profits in the store and follow suggestions and/or direction of the Merchandising and/or Sales Manager.
Rotate product stock to ensure no out of date or out of stock conditions.
Ability to read and understand simple instructions without them having to be repeated several times; write simple correspondence legibly, and effectively present information to Customers and other Employees of the Organization.
Ability to listen and not interrupt a Customer, Supervisor and/or Manager while they are conveying a problem that needs to be addressed and solved; ability to retain the information; learn from mistakes and not dwell or take things personally.
Knowledge and skills to use a computer/iPhone and able to create Excel, PDF and Word documents as well as conducting research via the internet or while in the field. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Must possess strong Customer service skills.
Prospect and establish new accounts throughout the territory.
Participate in training programs
Accountable for completion of assigned tasks.
Be responsible for assigned equipment.
Report hours on provided time sheets.
Have the flexibility to work long hours, spend the occasional night out of town, drive in all types of weather conditions and drive for long distances at a time.
Will be trained to provide maintenance on coffee and cappuccino equipment.
Must have a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
Will be delivering product as necessary.
Must be 21 years of age of older.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands that must be met by an Employee to successfully perform the tasks and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Able to safely lift 40-60 pounds unassisted.
Stand for long periods of time.
Bend and work on knees to reach lower shelving.
Sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on floors.
Be able to hear and talk clearly.
Be able to see up close and long distance.
Work and drive in all weather conditions.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.
