Production Worker - Powder Coat

Auburn, Maine | Manufacturing - Powder Coat | Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:00 PM

Job Summary

Futureguard Building Products, Inc. is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Production Worker to join our Powder Coat Department. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment used to powder coat and finish aluminum components used in the manufacturing of awnings and panels.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Set up, operate, monitor, and tend equipment used in the powder coating and finishing process.

· Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to identify defects or deviations from standards and make adjustments as necessary.

· Inspect coating quality and finished components to ensure established quality standards are met.

· Measure, mix, and handle coatings or related materials in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.

· Load, unload, hang, move, and prepare aluminum components throughout the powder coat process.

· Perform routine equipment checks and assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance.

· Follow work orders, production schedules, safety procedures, and SDS information.

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

· Assist with other production duties, including packaging, component preparation, and machine operations, as needed.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Equipment

· Powder coat line, including washers, sprayers, and ovens.

· Forklift, compressor, pumps, and related manufacturing equipment.

· Hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.

Qualifications

· Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

· Mechanical ability and experience working with machines, tools, or production equipment preferred.

· Prior powder coat line experience is preferred; training may be provided to a qualified candidate.

· Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety information, SDS documentation, and related job instructions.

· Ability to perform basic calculations and accurately read a tape measure.

· Ability to monitor gauges, dials, and other equipment indicators and identify operating problems.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with coworkers.

· Reliable, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently while meeting productivity and quality standards.

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

· Regularly stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.

· Use hands and arms to handle, position, install, and move materials and components.

· Regularly lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise handle materials of varying weights. Some materials may weigh up to 100 pounds or more and may require team lifting or material-handling equipment.

· Perform work requiring visual acuity, including inspecting coating quality and identifying differences in colors, shades, and brightness where job-related.

· Hear and respond to equipment alerts and other workplace safety signals.

· Work in a manufacturing environment that may include varying temperatures, heat, humidity, fumes, odors, powder or aluminum dust, chemicals, noise, and moving or motorized equipment.

· Wear required personal protective equipment. Where a respirator is required, the employee must be able to safely use the required respirator in accordance with applicable workplace safety requirements and the company respiratory protection program.

· Operate manufacturing equipment and, when trained and authorized, a forklift.

Compensation

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
