Senior Litigation & Trial Paralegal

$85,000 – $125,000 a year + performance bonus | Full-time, in-office | Anaheim Hills, CA 92807

Focus Law is a boutique business litigation and trial firm. We represent business owners in their highest-stakes moments — partnership breakups, shareholder fights, and disputes where a company, a reputation, and a livelihood are all on the line. The work is demanding, and it matters.

We are looking for a senior litigation paralegal who can carry real responsibility from day one — someone who reads a file and knows what needs to happen next, without being told twice. If you do your best work with ownership rather than oversight, keep reading.

The Role

This is a hands-on, full-time, in-office position, working shoulder to shoulder with the owner and attorneys. You will touch matters from the complaint through trial, with the visibility and ownership that only a small firm can offer — and a direct line to the person whose name is on the door.

What You’ll Do

Case management & litigation support

Manage litigation matters in state and federal court, including e-filing
Support the attorneys through every stage, from pleadings to trial
Run multiple matters at once — independently, accurately, and ahead of deadlines

Drafting, research & discovery

Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery — both propounding and responding
Handle discovery end to end: subpoenas, document productions, and follow-up
Coordinate depositions, including court reporters, videographers, and interpreters
Review, analyze, and organize opposing productions; build document chronologies and redact sensitive material
Conduct legal research and prepare trial materials

Trial preparation

Organize exhibits, pretrial documents, and trial notebooks
Prepare materials for expert witness review
Provide trial support, including attendance

Communication & calendar

Keep clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel informed and on schedule
Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, meetings, and depositions
Keep case files organized and accessible in our document and case management systems

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience
Trial preparation and trial attendance experience
Business litigation experience preferred
Paralegal certificate required
Based in California — this is an in-office role
High proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel
Comfort with legal research platforms (LexisNexis, Westlaw, CEB) and case management software; we run on Clio
Strong writing, sharp organization, and genuine attention to detail
Reliable, consistent, and present
