Full Job Description

Summary:

This position counsels individuals with substance abuse issues and related problems, in an outpatient setting. This position carries a caseload and counsels both individuals and groups. This position may also engage in prevention or outreach activities. Director of Compliance.

Qualifications:

Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor with two years of experience. Computer literate. Must have a valid California Driver’s License, proof of Automobile Insurance and maintain current CPR and First Aid Certificates. Must pass background check.

Duties:

Assist in program planning and referral.
Intakes and assessments.
Treatment planning.
Facilitate therapy groups.
Facilitate education groups and individual sessions.
Maintain all charting and other records as required by IVRS, County, State and other pertinent local agencies.
Provide client supervision at all times.
Interact with probation, parole and other referral sources.
Conduct urinalysis testing. When necessary
All other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by management.
Maintain a positive and supportive attitude
Maintain a professional appearance

· Maintain compassion, empathy, and professionalism toward clients; their family members and/or significant others at all times.

· Attend all required agency staff and training meetings.

· Adhere to policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness.

· Ensure the highest level of service is provided to the people we serve.

· Maintain client confidentiality in compliance with federal guidelines, including HIPAA regulations.

· Adhere to staff Codes of Ethics and Conduct.

· Adhere to policies and procedures set forth for agency.

· Adhere to safety and housekeeping standards established by IVRS.

· Must have knowledge of federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations and standards governing all services provided by IVRS.

Essential Job Functions:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, calculators and fax machines.
Must be able to prepare correspondence.
Must be able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
Must be able to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
