Full Job Description

Wants / Must-Haves

Senior Commercial Electrical Estimating Experience - 7+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably within commercial electrical construction.
Commercial / Industrial Electrical Background - Must have experience estimating commercial and/or industrial electrical projects, not only small service work.
Relationship-Driven Estimator - Must understand that this role is not just estimating from a desk. The right person should have GC/customer relationships, a book of business, or the ability to build relationships that create bid opportunities and awarded work.
Full-Cycle Electrical Estimate Ownership - Must be able to own the estimate from takeoff through vendor quote coordination, pricing, proposal, and handoff.
Hard Bid / Pre-Engineered Plan Set Experience - Must be comfortable bidding complete drawing sets, reviewing plans and specifications, and pricing competitive work accurately.
Technical Electrical Knowledge - Strong understanding of lighting, power distribution, panels, switchgear, conduit, wire, devices, controls, low voltage, and general commercial electrical systems.
Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination - Must be able to solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor quotes, especially for gear, lighting, and project-specific materials.
Scope Gap and Risk Identification - Ability to identify exclusions, clarifications, RFIs, constructability concerns, missed scope, and bid risks before proposal submission.
Bid Volume and Deadline Management - Comfortable managing shifting bid volume, compressed timelines, and multiple active estimates.
Local Orange County Presence - Strong preference for someone local to Orange County who can work in office and build trust with the team.
Internal Team Communication - Ability to coordinate with Chris Anderson, ownership, PMs, field teams, sales, vendors, GCs, and clients.
Software and Systems Agility - Must be comfortable learning iWire's in-house estimating system and using Excel, Outlook, Word, PDF/takeoff tools, and estimating platforms.

Nice to Haves

Ground-Up / Underground Knowledge - Strong ground-up and underground electrical estimating experience is valuable as iWire wants to expand this portfolio.
Existing GC Relationships - Relationships with Southern California GCs, construction managers, warehouse/industrial clients, TI clients, or mixed-use/high-rise contacts.
Proven Revenue Production - History producing or supporting approximately $7M to $15M in awarded work annually.
Design-Build / Negotiated Work - Experience supporting design-build, budgeting, early-stage pricing, negotiated work, and preconstruction planning.
Field Electrical or Journeyman-Level Knowledge - Prior field experience is strongly preferred and may help separate strong candidates from average estimators.
Warehouse / Industrial / Hotel TI / Mixed-Use Experience - Exposure to the types of projects iWire wants to grow into, including larger warehouse, mixed-use, storefront with apartments, hotel TI, and ground-up projects.
Healthcare Experience Without Being OSHPD-Only - Medical/clinic estimating can be valuable, but John does not want someone whose background is only heavy OSHPD hospital work.
Title 24 / Lighting Controls Experience - Helpful given iWire's energy efficiency, Title 24, and CALCTP capabilities.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
