Full Job Description

Cross Catholic Outreach is a Catholic ministry with an ecumenical staff of Catholic, Protestant, and Eastern Orthodox believers working in unity to provide food, water, housing, education, orphan support, medical care, micro-enterprise, and disaster relief and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ to the poorest of the poor in more than 30 countries around the world. Position Title: Mail Inserter Operator

Department: Fulfillment Department

Position Location: (In-Office)

Reports to: Fulfillment Manager

Position Summary:

The Inserter Operator position requires a Candidate that is an organized team player with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. The Candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining inserting equipment, in line folder, strapping equipment and maintain mailing quality. The Candidate must have experience working in a fast-paced production environment. Attention to detail is necessary to assure accuracy in all aspects of preparing mail for the Postal Service.

Educational or Certification Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of production or direct mail services experience.

· High School Diploma, College is a Plus

· General Office Experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Character Required:

· Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of the ministry.

· Feels a calling to serve God through serving Cross Catholic Outreach in this capacity.

· Believes in and supports the mission and ministry of Cross Catholic Outreach, and agrees with the conduct policies and conduct expectations of Cross Catholic Outreach.

· Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, including spreadsheets and word-processing with a high degree of accuracy.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs including mail tray and bins.
Ability to work with and maintain production machines.
Ability to perform mail-merges and other pre-print set up.
Ensure the machines maintain optimal quality and speed during runs.

Duties:

· Fulfill several project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Assist with the scheduled Fulfillment Department assignments to completion. This may include proofing files and a variety of tasks including production and mailing work with attention to detail.
Capable of setting up and troubleshooting mail envelope inserter.
Setting up jobs according to specifications and job preferences.
Oversee inserting quality, as well as order of materials.
Maintain inventory of printed materials, and assist in ordering.
Ensure inserter area is clean and hazard free.
Regular maintenance and cleaning of inserter.
Delivery of daily mail to first floor mail room for USPS pick-up, or organize for delivery to Post Office.
Assembling printed pieces for mailing or shipping.

· Assist with receiving deliveries.

· Multi-task, prioritize workday and manage time effectively.

· Understand and adhere to product Quality Control.

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work. Essential functions include frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. The employee must be able to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. AND

This position may require occasional domestic and/or international travel to attend meetings, trainings, conferences, or organizational events. Travel may be conducted by airplane, automobile, bus, or other reasonable means. Travel frequency is expected to be limited and scheduled in advance when possible
