A growing, highly specialized manufacturing organization in Puerto Rico is seeking a Business Process Technical Lead to drive manufacturing excellence, process improvement, equipment modernization, and operational growth.
This newly created position offers a significant opportunity for an experienced Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Process Engineer to have a direct and visible impact on manufacturing performance, capacity, productivity, quality, and cost.
The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening a process-driven culture based on accountability, collaboration, discipline, efficiency, and continuous improvement, while supporting the organization's use of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
This is a highly hands-on engineering leadership role. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with equipment and vendors, developing practical solutions, and moving seamlessly between engineering design and the manufacturing floor.
The position reports directly to the General Manager and will work closely with manufacturing, operations, vendors, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and production processes to increase productivity, efficiency, quality, capacity, and throughput.
Identify opportunities to manufacture products faster, more efficiently, and at lower cost.
Lead troubleshooting efforts involving complex manufacturing, equipment, and process issues and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
Support the selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and implementation of new manufacturing equipment.
Develop and maintain relationships with equipment, technology, and engineering vendors, including international suppliers.
Participate in equipment qualification activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ.
Support engineering design, product development, reverse engineering, and custom product development initiatives.
Utilize SolidWorks for engineering design and product/process development.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams involved in metal fabrication, soldering, welding, metal bending/forming, assembly, and CNC machining.
Identify, prioritize, and implement process improvements throughout the manufacturing operation.
Develop standardized, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing processes to support continued business growth.
Support facility expansion initiatives and the implementation of new manufacturing capabilities.
Evaluate opportunities for automation, capacity expansion, equipment modernization, and technology improvements.
Apply EOS principles to strengthen accountability, process discipline, execution, communication, and operational performance.
Establish and document processes, standards, work methods, and best practices that support scalable manufacturing.
Serve as a hands-on technical resource capable of diagnosing and resolving issues directly on the manufacturing floor.
Partner with operations and senior leadership to translate business objectives into practical engineering and manufacturing initiatives.
Monitor the effectiveness of implemented improvements and establish appropriate performance measures.
Support strategic manufacturing initiatives and special projects as required.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing or process engineer who combines strong technical capabilities with a practical, entrepreneurial mindset.
This individual should be comfortable taking ownership of problems from identification through implementation and should enjoy working in an environment where priorities can evolve and where the engineer may be required to contribute across multiple areas.
