Job Description – Construction Land Surveyor

Job Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor to lead surveying operations for civil, construction, and land development projects. The candidate will manage the full cycle of survey work, ensuring precision, compliance, and timely deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and perform land, boundary, and topographic surveys.
Conduct deed and record research to establish property boundaries.
Supervise field crews in data collection, layout, and staking.
Review and certify survey drawings, plats, and legal descriptions.
Prepare and sign official survey documents in compliance with Puerto Rico regulations.
Operate GPS, total station, and other surveying instruments (company-owned).
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams.
Work in challenging environments such as slopes, heavy vegetation, water, and mass land movement areas.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and company protocols.

Qualifications

Licensed with the Junta Examinadora de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico.
Active member of CIAPR – Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico.
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in land surveying.
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD for transversal and project drawings.
Proficiency with GPS, total station, and other surveying equipment.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work in rough terrain and outdoor conditions.

Preferred

Experience with LiDAR, drones, photogrammetry, or advanced survey technology.
An assistant (auxiliar) who works with them already.
Knowledge of local zoning, subdivision, and land development regulations.
