We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Title Abstractor to join our Family Orinted busnnies owned and operated in Ponchatoula, LA.. In this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive title searches, analyzing property records, and preparing accurate legal documentation to facilitate real estate transactions. Your expertise will help ensure clear property titles and smooth closing processes, contributing directly to our commitment to excellence in legal and real estate services. This position offers an engaging opportunity for individuals passionate about legal research, document management, and client service within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough title searches using case management software, document management systems, and public records to verify property ownership and encumbrances.
Analyze legal documents, including deeds, mortgages, liens, easements, and court records to identify relevant information.
Draft detailed reports summarizing findings, highlighting potential issues or discrepancies affecting property titles.
Proofread and review legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, title officers, and other stakeholders to clarify information or gather additional documentation.
Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion while maintaining compliance with privacy standards and legal requirements.

Skills

Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and property records.
Paralegal experience or law office experience preferred; familiarity with legal drafting and terminology is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for document creation and data entry tasks
Excellent proofreading skills ensuring error-free reports and correspondence.
Ability to perform detailed legal research related to title issues, liens, or disputes.
Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
Exceptional client communication skills to provide clear updates and handle inquiries professionally.
Knowledge of legal discovery processes and filing procedures relevant to real estate transactions.
Technical proficiency in legal administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and document processing within law office environments.
