Duties
- Care for plants by watering, pruning, fertilizing, and maintaining healthy growth to ensure high-quality stock
- Assist customers in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and landscape materials based on their needs and preferences
- Provide expert advice on landscape maintenance, plant care and gardening techniques
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately handling cash transactions and processing payments efficiently
- Restock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and ensure the nursery is clean, organized, and visually appealing
Skills
- Strong knowledge of horticulture practices including plant knowledge and plant care
- Excellent communication skills to educate customers and promote products confidently
- Retail math proficiency for accurate cash handling, pricing, and inventory management
- Experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail setting
- Ability to perform stocking, merchandising, and organizational tasks efficiently
- Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude and problem-solving skills
