ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH

DESCRIPTION:
An Assistant Football Coaching Position is available at Stevens Middle School. Depending on qualifications and
experience, assistant coaches will assist with offensive line, defensive line, linebackers, and receivers with possible
offensive coordinator and or special teamO’sP cEooNrd iUnaNtoTr rIeLsp oFnIsLibiLlitEieDs. Assistant Coaches will assist the Head
Football Coach with all aspects of the footb2a0ll0 p7r-o2g0ra0m8, YinEcluAdiRng practice planning and management, game
preparation and management, travel planning and supervision of players, communication with parents and
community members, and maintenance and inventory of equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: OPEN UNTIL FILLED
Experience coaching high school varsity footb2al0l,0 e7sp-e2c0ia0ll8y oYffEenAsiRve line, defensive line, linebackers, or
offensive pass receivers desired. Recent college playing experience may be substituted for coaching experience.
Must prioritize sportsmanship, work ethic, organization, and communication with players, staff, and the
community.
Must relate well to student-athletes; must be able to teach fundamental football skills.
Must display positive qualities such as enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and loyalty.
Must represent the program with appropriate behavior and integrity at all times while developing and maintaining
productive relationships with other employees, parents, students, and opponents.
Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students, parents, staff, and program.
Must effectively support the head coach in all aspects of the program.
Responding to stressful situations appropriately.
Maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
ASSISTANT COACHES SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACT:
Assistant coaches whose positions are dependent on student participation will be offered provisional coaching
positions. Provisional coaches will be hired for a one-week period of time through the 8th calendar day of the
season; their contracts will be extended for the duration of the season only if the number of student participants
justifies the additional coaching staff. In the event that student participation does not warrant the number of
assistant coaches, provisional coaches shall be released from District employment after the eighth day of the
season.
Wages – Coaches $4,262.71
Benefits - Medical, Retirement, Basic Life/AD&D, Basic Long-Term Disability, FSA & HSA. Any employee
anticipated to work at least 630 hours in the school year is eligible for benefits.
