Full Job Description

Job Summary

Gielow Pickles is seeking dependable, safety-focused Forklift Operators to join our team. This position supports multiple departments throughout our facilities, including production, shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory management. Forklift Operators play a critical role in safely transporting materials, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring products are moved efficiently while following company procedures and food safety standards.

Duties

Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Transport raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and supplies throughout the facility.
Accurately scan, move, and record inventory transactions using the company's ERP system and handheld scanners.
Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices to ensure proper product rotation.
Verify product identification, lot numbers, quantities, and locations before moving materials.
Load and unload trailers, trucks, and production lines as assigned.
Supply production lines with materials while removing finished goods and waste as needed.
Maintain organized warehouse and storage areas.
Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment concerns immediately.
Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
Follow all food safety, GMP, quality, and sanitation requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production and shipping goals.
Assist in other warehouse or production-related duties as assigned.

Skills

Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
Forklift certification preferred (training and certification may be provided).
Experience working with ERP or warehouse management systems is preferred.
Basic computer and handheld scanner skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach throughout the shift.
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in varying temperatures, including refrigerated and warehouse environments.
Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
