Job Summary

Join our vibrant senior living community as a Part-Time Activities Assistant, where your enthusiasm and creativity will help enrich the lives of our residents. In this dynamic role, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors. Your compassionate approach and organizational skills will foster a lively, inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for our residents. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of seniors while working in a supportive team environment.

Duties

Develop and implement diverse activity programs that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and health conditions, including memory care and dementia-specific activities.
Coordinate resident events such as outings, themed parties, exercise classes, and recreational therapy sessions to promote social engagement.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal care when needed during activities.
Build strong rapport with residents by fostering meaningful interactions and understanding individual preferences and histories.
Collaborate with team members to ensure activities are inclusive, safe, and aligned with residents’ care plans and aging issues counseling.
Manage schedules for activities and events efficiently using tools like Microsoft Office to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness.

Skills

Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings.
Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory care best practices.
Strong background in recreational therapy, caregiving, or working with seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Excellent communication skills to engage residents effectively and coordinate with families and team members.
Ability to develop innovative programs that promote resident engagement and well-being.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and reporting purposes.
Demonstrated leadership skills in team coordination and program development within senior living facilities.
