Position Summary
The Med Tech is responsible for administering or assisting residents with medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and community policies. This position also provides direct resident care and assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting resident safety, comfort, and well-being.
Reports To: Wellness Director
What You'll Do
Medication Administration
- Administer or assist residents with medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, and changes in condition.
- Document medication administration accurately and timely.
- Complete medication counts and controlled substance documentation according to policy.
- Assist with medication cart audits and medication room organization.
- Ensure compliance with medication management procedures and state regulations.
Resident Care
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, mobility, dressing, grooming, and other daily needs.
- Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive condition.
- Promote resident dignity, independence, and quality of life.
- Provide compassionate support and meaningful interaction with residents.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate resident documentation and charting.
- Report incidents, accidents, and resident concerns promptly.
- Follow infection control, safety, and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Participate in required training, meetings, and continuing education programs.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Med Tech, Medication Technician, Certified Medication Aide (CMA), or state-required medication administration certification.
- Ability to safely administer medications according to state regulations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and resident-centered approach to care.
Preferred
- Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Senior Living, Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation, or Home Health.
- Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.
- Previous caregiving or medication administration experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to assist residents with transfers and mobility needs.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Schedule
- Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
