Education: Associate degree in IT or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-2 years of relevant systems administration experience. Experience in Windows/Linux environments.
Job Description:
Provide on-site support at Cannon AFB to ensure assigned systems are fully operational and maintained. Provide database, server, and Government administration, operations, maintenance, and engineering support in accordance with governing publications.
Provide for all aspects of O&M for Core Services and Infrastructure. Administer, maintain, monitor, protect, and report on all systems, and Government clients. Must apply industry standard systems administration, and Government administration services. Ensure Core Services and Infrastructure systems adhere to Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs), other Government publications, industry best practices, and manage/forecast system lifecycle to include tech refresh.
Job Requirements:
● Perform services during normal business hours and on call (1 hour response) during weekends and holidays. Provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when required by the Government.
● Provide support outside normal business hours and travel as required to support contingency and crisis operations.
● Systems Administrator activities include, but are not limited to, managing accounts, user and group maintenance, configurations, file transfers, scripting, service management, patching, updating, directory service management, security sweeps, network scans, vulnerability reports, hardware usage scans, disk status, permissions, database management, resource management, automated monitoring, and continuous reporting.
● Monitor all systems for health and compliance with applicable Department of Air Force Instructions (DAFI) and governing publications and provide Core Services and Infrastructure activity data in a manner auditable by Government and produce reports in a format approved by Government.
● Make a reasonable effort to meet scheduled, and event driven, data backup requirements.
● Support the evolution of Core Services per AFSOC requirements and integrate other Commercial Off the Shelf/Government Off the Shelf (COTS/GOTS) products to extend Core Services capabilities per AFSOC requirements.
● Perform analysis, compatibility testing and provide COA recommendations on implementation of incremental upgrades.
● Ability to perform immediate administrator support tasks to expedite reach-back support (resetting passwords, establishing accounts, checking systems status, checking firewalls, processing and coordinating host network requests, resetting components, and other similar tasks).
● Personnel with privileged access must obtain appropriate Computing Environment (CE) certifications for the operating system(s) and/or security related tools/devices they support.
