Full Job Description

Overview:
Join our team at Eye to Eye Clinic, a leading Eye Care Clinic and Optical Boutique, as an Optician. We are seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for eye care to assist our optometrists in providing top-notch services to our patients and who is willing to expand responsibilities as the practice grows.

Dependability, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required for the position. Must be a team player and willing cross train in a variety of office positions. Ideally the position is full time, but willing to offer part time for the right candidate. Prior experience with Officemate is a plus.

Responsibilities:

- Assist patients in frame selections and make recommendations about the best lenses for their needs

- Dispense and adjust spectacles

- Handle retail sales of eyewear, lenses, and other optical products.

-Verify glasses when they arrive in the office

- Determine hardware insurance coverage for patients

- Bill insurances for hardware

Additional responsibilities may include:
- Conduct preliminary testing on patients, including measuring visual acuity, performing autorefraction, and assessing color vision.
- Assist in obtaining and recording patients' medical histories and relevant symptoms.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as visual field testing.
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care procedures.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in retail math for handling transactions and sales.
- Familiarity with clinic operations and experience in a healthcare setting.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and colleagues effectively.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
