TITLE: Administrative Assistant I (School Year) - King Middle

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is the welcoming face of King Middle School. Duties include supporting building Administrators and the Co-curricular & Athletics Director in a bustling front office, as well as greeting families, assisting students, answering phones, organizing and maintaining files, maintaining the school's website, assisting with communication about transportation as needed, maintaining databases, and producing documents. The successful candidate will also support the Guidance Office with enrollments, transfers, exiting students, and maintenance of accurate student records. Familiarity and ease with technology is a must. Platforms include Google Classroom, Infinite Campus, and other internet-based sites used by the district, school, and Co-Curricular & athletics programs.

This position serves as part of a team of front office staff, working collaboratively and with colleagues, taking initiative, and working independently on projects.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

At least one year experience in performing responsible clerical and secretarial work in a busy office environment preferred
Other combinations of education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization (more info)

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

Calendar: School Year + 13 Days
Schedule: Full Time (1.0 FTE)
Assignment: Permanent
Contract: Part of BASE union (see 2026-2029 CBA here)
Wage range: $22.04-$29.05, based on experience
Benefits: Eligible for benefits as outlined here
