Summary:

The MaineHealth Office of Legal Affairs is seeking an experienced attorney to provide advice and support for MaineHealth’s operations, particularly Real Estate, Finance, and Facilities. The role requires commercial contracting experience, ideally with knowledge of real estate transactions and bond financing. The ideal candidate should be able to successfully engage in contracting, and also give practical advice to diverse internal clients.

The MaineHealth Office of Legal Affairs is a group of attorneys and staff who provide advice and support in a range of legal areas, including employment, privacy, health law, real estate, malpractice, regulatory, and general corporate law. The Office of Legal Affairs works across the MaineHealth system, supporting all MaineHealth hospitals, clinicians and administrators in our common vision of working together so our communities are the healthiest in America.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Graduate from an accredited law school required.
License/Certifications: Licensed to practice law in the State of Maine required. Maine bar admission required; if transitioning license from another state, Maine bar admission required within 12 months from start date.
Experience: Five years of experience representing healthcare clients and demonstrating knowledge of health law, commercial contracting, patient privacy laws and other legal topics associated with the representation of health care providers required.

The pay range for this position is $166,545.60 to $225,347.20 per year.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
