Cosmetology Instructor – Aveda Institute Portland and Vancouver Campus

Team Member Candidate
These roles are ideal for licensed cosmetologists who have a passion for teaching and mentoring others. You must hold a Cosmetology or Hair Design License in Oregon (and Washington, if teaching at the Vancouver campus) and have at least two years of industry experience. Prior teaching experience is a plus; however, we are primarily seeking someone who is motivated, open to feedback, and eager to inspire students. Instructor Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with current industry standards.
- Promote and uphold safe, sanitary practices in cosmetology and related sciences.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to a positive, goal-oriented environment.
- Support clinic floor activities, guide students, and assist in resolving issues as they arise.
- Participate in special events and activities that enrich the student experience.
- Maintain accurate academic records and continuously assess student performance.
- Project a professional image, representing Aveda Institute Portland both internally and externally.
Licensing Requirements
- Washington Instructor License (Required for Vancouver Campus only)
- Oregon Operator’s License
- Ability to obtain an Oregon Instructor License within 30 days of hire
Job Details
- Type: Full-time and Part-time positions available
- Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour, with additional pay options for candidates licensed to work in both Oregon and Washington
- Expected Hours: 29 – 40 per week
